As a multi instrumentalist I've recognized the importance of teaching music as a language.  No matter what instrument a student chooses the most important musical concepts apply to players of all instruments.  Teaching specifics of technique will always be necessary, but establishing the foundational skills of overall musicianship is of paramount importance.

Basic vocal and keyboard skills are often incorporated in addition to your instrument of choice, these are important tools for the development of your ears and musical mind.
